Soviet RPG 43: SOLD
6X12", Acrylic on Canvas, October 2002.
A shaped charge grenade (for maximum directional control on the explosion) used by the Soviets in WW2 and used by Egypt until 1973 in a war with Israel. The conical tin drogue was forced back by a spring and dragged out two cloth strips as stabilizers for flight. A safety pin dropped out in flight, arming the graze fuze for impact.
