The standard German "offensive" grenade all the way through World War 1 and World War 2.  The design hardly changed for 35 years.  This was a time-fused weapon, that was activated by removing the cap on the bottom of the handle, and pulling a toggle inside.  The grenade would explode 4-5 seconds later.
